Senior Technologist/Associate

Originally from Kobe, Japan, Mika obtained a Bachelor of Economics from Konan University in Japan. She experienced a major earthquake in 1995, and it changed her perspective on life. She had an opportunity to work with architects soon after, and it made her think there is a bridge between architecture and art which has always interested her through her life. She decided to continue her education rather than to pursue her business career.

Her experience ranges from preliminary design phase through construction administration on institutional, cultural, healthcare, commercial retail, special-need / multi-family / single-family residential projects over two decades. She also obtained a Certificate of Architectural / Structural Drafting from Kwantlen Polytechnic University, a Diploma of Interior Design from Art Institute of Vancouver, and completed various part-time courses at BCIT / Passive House Canada. Her passion lies in making a positive impact on her teams, clients, communities and its people through successful projects.

Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, abstract painting, playing piano, or outside skiing, hiking, playing golf / tennis.
